Wide front tire kit modifications are the growing trend among Metric Chopper™ riders. Replacing the stock 'skinny' tire gives the motorcycle a much more aggressive appearance with little or no change in the handling performance. You can begin by replacing the stock triple tree with a wider design that adds 5 degrees of rake over stock (moves the front tire out for a true Chopper look) and widens the spread of the front forks to 290mm from center of fork tube to center of fork tube. Kits ship complete with axle, spacers for front wheel, brake system and front fender. You can usually use the original bearings form the stock triple tree. After completing this mod, you can still use the stock front wheel and tire but we suggest looking at a fat front rim and tire.
