Icon Dead Man's Hand JacketIcon Motorcycle GearMore cool Metric Chopper® gear is coming out of the ICON design house. The Icon Dead Man's Hand jacket is based on the ICON Daytona jacket chassis but adds the two pair hand of "Aces & Eights" theme. The legend of the Dead Man's Hand is that Wild Bill Hickok took a bullet in the back holding two pair - Aces and Eights - of the black suits (also called "bullets") in his hand. Hickok's murder took place on August 2, 1876, while playing poker at Nuttal & Mann's Saloon No. 10 in Deadwood, Black Hills, Dakota Territory. Hickok could not find an empty seat in the corner, where he always sat in order to protect himself against sneak attacks from behind, and instead sat with this back to the door. He was shot in the back of the head by paid hit man Jack McCall with a .45-caliber revolver. In the ensuing two hour trial, McCall claimed to be avenging his brother's death by Hickok and was acquitted and quickly got lost into the mining camps of the Black Hills. McCall was later captured by US Marshalls after bragging about the deed and tried again because his first trial was not recognized by the United States (Deadwood was in Indian Country), found guilty and hanged. It was later determined that McCall did not have any brothers. You can purchase the ICON Dead Man's Hand jacket at MetricBikes Supestore. |
