1. As a general rule, you could start by making air-cleaner and exhaust changes. Depending on which components you choose, you can expect to spend between $400 and $800. 2. The next step would be adding cams which would run between $400 and $500. 3. You can add high performance heads or have your heads worked for better flow. Head porting can run between $800 to $1000 while new heads cost between $1,200 and $1,500 or more. Labor to tune the engine will add $400 to $500. 4. Bore your own cylinders or pick up new ones for $150 to $350, add new pistons for around $250, then spend another $300 to $400 more for installing everything. 5. Nitrous Oxide injection systems can cost you between $1,800 to $2,500 with custom adapter kits. |
