The other big news on “the street” is Star’s all-new performance cruiser, the Raider. Styled after the increasingly popular custom cruisers, which are multiplying each year, Star Motorcycles has created their own custom-style performance cruiser. The Yamaha Star Raider is a 113-cubic-inch (1854cc) air-cooled, fuel-injected, belt-driven, v-twin. The frame and swingarm are cast-aluminum, and ride on 46mm fork tubes and a single (hidden) shock. The yoke angle is six degrees – the first ever on a street-legal Star Motorcycle. In addition to the 34-degree rake, the Raider has a 40-degree rake and 102mm of trail. The Raider is available in “Raven” and “Candy Red.” And if you need more chrome like Christopher Walken needs more cowbell, a Raider S model is also available, which comes in “Tommy Blue” or “Candy Red with flames.” The Raider models will retail between $13,180 and $13,980. |
